- You are between 18 and 80 years old
- You have weakness on one side of your body (hemiparesis) from your first stroke or traumatic brain injury
- Your brain injury happened less than one month ago
- You do not have weakness on both sides of your body
- You do not have major memory or thinking problems that would affect evaluations
- You can safely have an MRI scan
