Who can take part
- You are 18 to 80 years old
- You have been diagnosed with carotid artery plaque by ultrasound in the last two weeks
- The plaque in your carotid artery is either 2 mm or thicker, or your artery is at least half blocked
- You do not have any metal implants or other reasons that would make MRI unsafe
- You have not had surgery or a stent placed in your carotid artery
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you can lie still for the scan
