Brain cell study in Parkinson's DBS surgery

Who can take part

  • You have Parkinson's disease and your doctor says medications are not enough, so you are considering deep brain stimulation (DBS) surgery.
  • You are between 45 and 85 years old.
  • Your memory and thinking skills are only mildly affected (or normal) for someone with Parkinson's, as confirmed by special tests.
  • You are healthy enough to have DBS surgery and can stay awake during the procedure, plus an extra 25 minutes.
  • You can understand and follow instructions given in English.
