Who can take part

  • You have Parkinson's disease and are scheduled for DBS surgery at the University of Colorado Hospital.
  • You will receive a Medtronic DBS system with a Percept battery and SenSight electrode.
  • You have slowness of movement in your arms (bradykinesia) with a score of 2 or higher on the MDS-UPDRS test when off your Parkinson's medications.
  • You are able to temporarily stop taking your Parkinson's medications for study visits.
  • You do not have dementia or other psychological conditions that would make it hard to give consent or follow instructions.
  • You do not already have a DBS system or an implanted heart device (like a pacemaker).
