Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome or myelofibrosis.
  • Your hemoglobin (red blood cell level) is very low—less than 7 g/dL.
  • You cannot take oral or injected iron-removal medicines because you can't tolerate them or have a medical reason not to.
  • You have high iron levels in your body (ferritin over 1000 µg/L, or liver iron at a certain level, or heart iron measurement too low).
  • You are not taking certain other treatments for your blood disorder (like azacitidine, erythropoietin, or luspatercept) right now.
