Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You have narrowing in two or three major heart arteries that need bypass surgery, including a blocked left main artery or the front artery of the heart.
- Your doctor has ruled out stent placement (angioplasty) because your blockages are too severe or complex for stents.
- You are in stable condition (recent heart attack? your heart enzyme levels must be back to normal).
- You do not have serious lung disease, kidney failure, obesity, or other major health problems that make surgery risky.
