Who can take part

  • You have Parkinson's disease diagnosed by a doctor.
  • You have depression that is moderate to severe (a score of 15 or more on a depression questionnaire).
  • You experience moderate to severe freezing of gait (your feet feel stuck when walking).
  • Your freezing of gait does not improve with Parkinson's medications.
  • You are not currently taking certain other antidepressants or MAO-B inhibitors (like rasagiline, selegiline, or safinamide).
  • You do not have severe liver or kidney problems, dementia, or a psychotic disorder.
