  • You have been diagnosed with sudden hearing loss in one ear for the first time.
  • Your hearing loss started less than 2 weeks ago.
  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You do not have other ear problems like ear infections, ear surgery, or hearing loss from injury.
  • You do not have serious health conditions like heart, liver, or kidney disease.
  • You are not pregnant or nursing.
