Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss (SSNHL)

Who can take part

  • Age 18–70 years old
  • Sudden hearing loss in one ear that started within the last 2 weeks
  • Hearing loss of at least 30 dB across three or more frequencies (confirmed by hearing test or comparing to your other ear)
  • No known cause for your hearing loss (no tumor, stroke, or infection found)
  • No previous hearing problems or balance problems in the affected ear
  • Able to attend acupuncture appointments and complete study visits
