Who can take part
- Age 18–70 years old
- Sudden hearing loss in one ear that started within the last 2 weeks
- Hearing loss of at least 30 dB across three or more frequencies (confirmed by hearing test or comparing to your other ear)
- No known cause for your hearing loss (no tumor, stroke, or infection found)
- No previous hearing problems or balance problems in the affected ear
- Able to attend acupuncture appointments and complete study visits
