Comparing muscle response in active and inactive older adults
Part of Hormones & metabolism clinical trials.
This study looks at how muscles respond to exercise in people aged 60 to 85. You will be asked to do some exercises so researchers can measure how your nerves and muscles work together.

This research study examines how muscle cells handle blood sugar differently depending on whether someone is lean or has obesity, and whether their body resists insulin. Researchers will take small muscle samples to understand the genetic differences, which may help develop better treatments for insulin resistance and metabolic health.
This study looks at how your muscles might show early signs of future heart or blood sugar problems. You'll have a muscle check and follow some meal guidelines.
This study looks at how your body responds to exercise if you have obesity. It may help researchers understand which changes happen with exercise and how safe it is for people in your age group.
This study looks at how age affects the way your body uses insulin (a hormone that helps move sugar into cells), and how lifestyle or exercise may change that. It may help you understand insulin resistance and whether changes in activity could improve blood sugar control.
This study looks at how different older adults respond to exercise. It will help researchers understand why some people benefit more than others. You will be asked to do supervised exercise sessions and tests over about 6 months.
This study tests whether a lifestyle program combining exercise and nutrition can help adults over 50 improve their muscle strength and function. You'll work with researchers to see if this approach helps with mobility and overall health.
