Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older and in the intensive care unit (ICU)
  • You are expected to stay in the ICU for at least another 2 days
  • You are on a breathing machine or high-flow oxygen (Optiflow)
  • Your heart rate is stable (above 50 beats per minute) and you have no heart block without a pacemaker
  • You are awake, not sedated, and able to answer questions about your sleep
  • You do not have a serious brain condition (like stroke, tumor, or dementia) or a major psychiatric disorder
