Smart weaning from inhaled nitric oxide for newborns with PPHN

This trial tests a new, smart way to slowly reduce (wean) the inhaled nitric oxide gas that helps babies with a serious lung condition called PPHN. If your baby is already responding well to iNO and needs it for at least 24 hours, this study might help make the weaning process safer and more effective.

Who can take part

  • Your baby has started or is expected to start inhaled nitric oxide (iNO) for at least 24 hours due to a diagnosis of PPHN (a condition where blood vessels in the lungs tighten).
  • Your baby has shown a clear improvement with iNO treatment.
  • The iNO delivery machine used must be one that can be used with a smart closed-loop system to automatically adjust the gas flow.
  • You or your child's legal guardian understand the study's risks and benefits and give written permission to participate.
