Who can take part
- You have a leaky aortic heart valve of any severity level.
- You are scheduled for heart surgery that will include a special ultrasound probe placed in your esophagus.
- You do not have an irregular heartbeat called atrial fibrillation or flutter.
- You do not have more than a mild leak in your mitral valve (the other main heart valve).
- You are not in critical condition before surgery as defined by standard risk scores.
- You do not have a prosthetic (artificial) aortic valve.
