Who can take part

  • You are between 21 and 60 years old.
  • You are in generally good health (classified as ASA I or II by your anesthesiologist).
  • You have no history of brain problems like a stroke or mini-stroke.
  • You do not have a bleeding disorder or take blood thinners for clotting.
  • You are not currently taking magnesium supplements, heart medications like beta-blockers or calcium channel blockers, or long-term opioids.
