Who can take part

  • You have a suspected lung cancer or lymphoma based on a CT or PET scan.
  • The tumor or enlarged lymph node is near your esophagus or stomach (so it can be reached with a special ultrasound scope).
  • You do not have another cancer that might have spread to this area.
  • You are not on blood thinners that can't be stopped, and you do not have a bleeding disorder.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • A large blood vessel is not blocking the path between the scope and the target.
