Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 60 years old.
  • You have a diagnosis of autoimmune hepatitis (a liver disease where your immune system attacks your liver).
  • Your liver disease is severe, measured by a MELD score above 24 (a score that estimates how urgently you need a liver transplant).
  • You are not expected to be able to get a liver transplant in the next 28 days.
  • You have not taken steroids (medications like prednisone) in the last 7 days.
