Who can take part
- You had a recent stroke caused by a clot in a large brain blood vessel (confirmed by a special brain scan).
- You are scheduled to have a clot-removal procedure called mechanical thrombectomy.
- Your kidneys are working well enough (eGFR above 30) and you are not on dialysis.
- You are not currently taking or recently stopped (within 3 months) a medicine called an SGLT2 inhibitor (like canagliflozin).
- You do not have a known allergy to canagliflozin, you do not have type 1 diabetes, and you are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
