This study tests whether adding a blood-filtering treatment (plasma adsorption) right after a clot-removal procedure (EVT) can improve recovery for people with a severe ischemic stroke caused by a large blockage in the front of the brain. The plasma adsorption is given within 12 hours after the EVT.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You had a large-vessel blockage stroke in the front part of the brain and had a successful clot-removal procedure (EVT) within 12 hours of symptoms starting.
  • Your stroke symptoms are moderate to moderately severe (NIHSS score 6–25) after EVT.
  • Before this stroke, you could do your daily activities with little help (mRS 0–2).
  • You do not have certain health conditions (like severe brain swelling, bleeding, blood clotting problems, cancer, or severe heart/kidney/liver disease).
