Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You have had a stroke caused by a blocked artery in the middle of the brain within the last 3 days.
- The stroke area is large (80–300 mL) or has a low ASPECTS score (1–5) on a brain scan.
- You are not scheduled for a surgery to remove part of your skull to reduce brain pressure.
- You do not have severe low blood pressure (less than 90 systolic) or signs of brain herniation.
- You are not allergic to certain blood pressure or heart rate medications (like terazosin, urapidil, esmolol, or propranolol).
