Who can take part

  • Your child must be between 6 and 17 years old.
  • Your child must weigh between 40 and 352 pounds (18 to 160 kg).
  • Your child must have been diagnosed with essential high blood pressure (not caused by another condition) and have a blood pressure at or above the 95th percentile for their age, sex, and height.
  • Your child must have safe blood, liver, and kidney function as shown by recent lab tests.
  • A parent or guardian must give permission, and the child must agree to join (if old enough).
