Who can take part

  • You are a healthy adult (classified as ASA I or II by your doctor).
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is below 30.
  • You are scheduled for elective (non-emergency) nose surgery.
  • You do not have serious health problems like liver, kidney, or heart disease.
  • You do not have hearing loss, trouble thinking, or a history of substance abuse.
  • You are not allergic to dexmedetomidine or similar medicines, and you are not planned to go to the intensive care unit after surgery.
