Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed with high blood pressure for at least 6 months.
  • You are currently taking 2 or more blood pressure pills and your blood pressure is still high (top number 150–180, bottom number 90 or higher).
  • Your 24-hour blood pressure monitor shows an average top number between 135 and 170.
  • Your kidney arteries are wide enough (at least 3 mm) and long enough (at least 20 mm) on a CT scan.
  • You do not have certain other conditions like severe diabetes, kidney problems, a pacemaker, or recent heart attack or stroke.
