Who can take part

  • You have Parkinson's disease that responds to levodopa medication.
  • Your symptoms are not well controlled with medication and you have motor fluctuations lasting more than 4 months.
  • You have been referred for deep brain stimulation (DBS) surgery and are considered a good candidate for it.
  • You are 18 or older and willing to attend multiple study visits and complete symptom diaries.
  • You do not have major psychiatric conditions, dementia, or other serious medical problems that would interfere with the study.
