Optimizing deep brain stimulation for Parkinson's disease

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have a diagnosis of Parkinson's disease that responds to medication but has motor fluctuations
  • You have a deep brain stimulator (DBS) placed in a specific brain area called the subthalamic nucleus, and it can sense brain signals
  • Your DBS settings have been stable for at least 3 months, and your Parkinson's medications have been stable for at least 4 weeks
  • You are willing and able to attend study visits and do at-home monitoring, and can understand English without an interpreter
