Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • Your brain bleed happened within the last 24 hours and is large (at least 50 ml) or causing dangerous pressure.
  • You are conscious enough to have a score of 5–14 on a coma scale and have moderate to severe stroke symptoms.
  • You had no major disability before the bleed (able to do daily activities on your own).
  • You do not have other causes for the bleed like an aneurysm or tumor, and you are not in a coma with no chance of recovery.
