Ultrasound test for lung strain in ICU patients

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older and in the ICU with a severity score (APACHE II) above 8.
  • You are either breathing on your own (with or without oxygen) or have been on a breathing machine for more than 24 hours.
  • You have no history of chest surgery or chest injury (like broken ribs or a collapsed lung).
  • You are not pregnant.
  • You do not need a special type of high-frequency ventilator.
