Who can take part

  • You must be 18 or older.
  • You must have a type of MDS that is considered high risk (doctors measure this with scores like IPSS).
  • You must not have received any MDS treatment before.
  • Your liver and kidney function tests must be within safe limits (less than 2 times the normal maximum).
  • You should be generally well enough to care for yourself (ECOG score of 0, 1, or 2) and expected to live more than 6 months.
  • You cannot have an active infection, other cancers, severe organ problems, or a history of bone marrow transplant.
