Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You have a confirmed primary cancer (not small-cell lung cancer and not a blood cancer).
  • An MRI shows one or more brain metastases, and the largest one is between 1 cm and 7 cm.
  • Your doctor believes the main brain tumor can be surgically removed, and any other brain tumors can be treated with focused radiation.
  • You have not had whole-brain radiation or focused radiation to a brain metastasis before.
  • You are not pregnant, and surgery can be planned within 7 days after the radiation.
