Brain stimulation therapy after stroke clot removal

This trial tests if a non-invasive brain stimulation technique called iTBS can help people recover motor function after a stroke caused by a large clot in the front part of the brain. It is for patients who had the clot removed successfully with a procedure within 24 hours of symptoms starting.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 85 years old.
  • You had a stroke from a clot in a large artery in the front of your brain (internal carotid or middle cerebral artery), confirmed by a scan.
  • You had a procedure to remove the clot within 24 hours of your first symptoms.
  • After the procedure, blood flow was mostly restored (eTICI score 2B or better).
  • One day after the procedure, you still have moderate to severe stroke symptoms (NIHSS score 5-25) and at least one arm or leg is notably weak.
  • You do not have epilepsy, a pacemaker, or other metal/electronic implants that could be affected by magnetic stimulation.
