Who can take part

  • You must have PKU and be 18 years or older.
  • You started a low-phenylalanine diet within your first month of life.
  • You have been following that diet regularly for the past 6 months.
  • Your blood phenylalanine level has stayed below 1600 µmol/L in the last 6 months.
  • You must not be pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You must be able to have an MRI (no metal implants, pacemaker, or braces that interfere).
