Who can take part

  • You have leukemia in remission or myelodysplastic syndromes and are getting your first stem cell transplant
  • You are between 12 and 65 years old
  • Your transplant donor is a half-matched family member (like a parent, child, or sibling) who is not your mother or a collateral relative
  • You are able to do most daily activities (performance status score 3 or less)
  • Your heart pumps well (LVEF > 55%) and your kidneys work fine (creatinine not too high)
  • You do not have active cancer that is not responding to treatment, or other cancers being treated
  • You do not have a severe active infection or a history of serious allergic reactions
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding
