This study tests whether a special tissue graft made from amniotic membrane (the sac around a baby) helps heal diabetic foot ulcers faster than standard care alone. You may be able to join if you have a diabetic foot ulcer that hasn't healed and you meet certain health and size criteria.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older.
  • You have type 1 or type 2 diabetes.
  • Your blood sugar control (A1c) is less than 12%.
  • The foot ulcer is between 0.7 and 20 square centimeters after cleaning (about the size of a pea to a small cookie).
  • The ulcer has been present for at least 4 weeks and is located on your foot, mainly below the ankle.
  • You have good blood flow to your foot, as shown by a recent test.
  • You are not currently taking strong immune-suppressing medicines or chemotherapy.
  • You are not on dialysis and do not plan to start.
  • You are not pregnant or planning to become pregnant in the next 4 months.
