Who can take part
- You are scheduled for heart surgery that uses a heart-lung machine (bypass or valve repair/replacement).
- You are between 22 and 85 years old.
- Your kidney function is reduced, with a specific blood test result (eGFR) between 15 and 60.
- If you are a woman who could become pregnant, you must have a negative pregnancy test and use condoms during the study.
- You must not have had heart surgery in the last 6 months, have an active infection, or other serious health issues listed by the study doctor.
