  • You are between 40 and 60 years old.
  • Your left ventricle pumps out less than 50% of the blood it holds (called ejection fraction below 50%).
  • You do not have heart valve disease, certain abnormal heart rhythms, or congenital heart disease.
  • You do not have a nerve or muscle condition like stroke or Parkinson's disease.
  • You do not have a long-term lung disease.
  • You do not have serious memory or thinking problems.
