Who can take part

  • You are at least 18 years old
  • You have had a stroke (either from a clot or bleeding) within the last 2 days
  • Your stroke is moderate to severe (NIHSS score of 5 or more)
  • You are hospitalized in a stroke unit or neurology department for at least 5 days
  • You or a family member can give permission to join the study
  • You are not already on special nutrition therapy (like after weight loss surgery or for digestive problems)
