Who can take part

  • You are over 18 years old
  • Your stroke happened more than 6 months ago
  • You still have some weakness on one side of your body that affects walking (FAC score of 3 or higher)
  • You do not have metal implants in your body
  • You do not have epilepsy or a history of seizures
  • You are not pregnant
  • You are not claustrophobic (afraid of enclosed spaces, as MRI scans are involved)
  • You do not have severe memory or thinking problems
  • You do not have untreated or unstable depression or anxiety
  • You do not have other disabilities that would prevent you from doing intensive physical training
