Who can take part
- You must be 18 or older and have been diagnosed with familial partial lipodystrophy.
- Your blood sugar levels must be high (A1c of 7.0% or more) and your triglycerides (a type of fat in the blood) must be high (200 mg/dL or more) based on blood tests.
- Your weight should have stayed steady (no more than 5% change) for the past 3 months, and your diet shouldn't have changed much.
- You cannot have taken a GLP-1 medication (like Ozempic or Mounjaro) in the last 6 months, or have had pancreatitis (severe pancreas inflammation) in the last 3 months.
- You must be willing to follow study procedures, including coming to clinic visits and possibly having an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scan.
- You should not have certain health conditions like severe heart disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure, a history of thyroid cancer, or HIV, among others listed in the full criteria.
