  • The baby has a completely blocked or nearly blocked pulmonary valve with only a tiny opening.
  • Blood flow to the lungs depends on a special fetal blood vessel (ductus arteriosus) staying open.
  • The wall between the heart's lower chambers (ventricular septum) has no holes.
  • Clear, good-quality ultrasound images must be available.
  • No other major heart defects or serious health problems outside the heart are present.
  • The family has not chosen to end the pregnancy.
