  • You are between 18 and 75 years old
  • You have type 2 diabetes and need insulin shots every day
  • Your pancreas makes very little or no C-peptide (a sign of insulin production)
  • You are willing to follow a strict blood sugar monitoring plan
  • You do not have severe heart, kidney, or liver problems
  • You are not pregnant or planning to become pregnant during the study
