This trial uses a special PET scan to see if the drug Mavacamten (Camzyos) helps improve blood flow to the heart muscle in people with hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM) who have chest pain or shortness of breath. If you already take Mavacamten as part of your usual care, the study will compare your PET scan results before and after treatment.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have a confirmed diagnosis of hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM) with thickening of the heart wall.
  • You have symptoms like chest pain or shortness of breath when active, and your doctor has ordered a special heart PET scan (called Rb-PET) to check for low blood flow (ischemia).
  • You are eligible to take the drug Mavacamten (Camzyos) as part of your regular medical care.
  • You have had a heart PET scan in the last 18 months that showed an abnormal result, or you are being scheduled for one now.
