Opioid and norepinephrine systems in Parkinson's pain

Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.
  • Your Parkinson's medications have been stable for at least 4 weeks.
  • You have had chronic pain for more than 3 months, or no chronic pain at all.
  • You can undergo a brain MRI and PET scan (no pacemaker, metal implants, or claustrophobia).
  • You must be able to stop opioid pain medications for 1 week before brain scans.
