Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You are willing and able to sign a consent form to participate.
  • You are having surgery on the back of your neck (posterior cervical spine surgery) for a degenerative condition.
  • Your surgery is for a pinched nerve (radiculopathy) or spinal cord compression (myelopathy) caused by wear-and-tear changes.
  • Your neck problem is not caused by an infection, tumor, or recent injury.
