Who can take part
- You must be 18 years or older.
- If you do not have type 2 diabetes, you must be obese (BMI 28 or higher) or overweight (BMI 24 to less than 28) with at least one related health issue like high blood sugar, high blood pressure, or sleep apnea.
- If you have type 2 diabetes, you must be overweight (BMI 24 or higher), have had diabetes for at least 90 days, and be managing it with diet/exercise or certain diabetes medications.
- You must have had a stable weight for the past 12 weeks (weight changed less than 5% in that time).
- Women who can get pregnant must use effective birth control from the start of the study until 8 weeks after the last dose, and not be breastfeeding.
- You cannot have used GLP-1 receptor agonists (like Wegovy or Ozempic) in the past, unless you have diabetes and it's been more than 180 days.
