Who can take part

  • Must have osteoarthritis diagnosed by a doctor in one or both knees
  • Must have mild to moderate arthritis (grade I or II)
  • Must have knee pain of at least 20 mm on a pain scale
  • Must be between 30 and 55 years old
  • Must have a body mass index (BMI) around 27, give or take a few points
  • Must not have had any knee surgery in the past
