Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older and were just hospitalized for an ischemic stroke (a stroke caused by a blood clot)
  • Your heart rhythm was normal (sinus rhythm) when you were admitted to the hospital
  • You have never been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter before
  • You can attend regular follow-up visits at the hospital and wear a heart monitor for 14 days multiple times
  • You are willing to consider blood-thinning medication if a hidden heart rhythm problem is found
  • You don't have a pacemaker or other implanted heart device
