Who can take part

  • You have moderate to severe leg pain or leg wounds (Rutherford stage 2, 3, or 4) caused by blocked leg arteries.
  • The artery in your leg has moderate or severe calcium buildup (hard plaque) that needs to be broken up.
  • You are at least 18 years old and able to sign a consent form.
  • You must not have had a heart attack or stroke in the last 60 days, and your kidney function must be normal.
  • The blockage must be in a new (not previously treated) leg artery, not a stent or graft, and the total treated length must be under 22 cm.
  • You should not be planning to use any other special devices like atherectomy or cutting balloons during this procedure.
