Who can take part

  • You must be 18 or older.
  • Your stroke must be moderate to severe (NIHSS score of 6 or higher).
  • You need a large blocked artery in the brain (internal carotid or M1 segment) that can be reached with a special aspiration catheter.
  • You must be able to start the procedure within 8 hours of when you were last seen well.
  • You should have been independent before the stroke (able to do all daily activities on your own).
