Who can take part

  • You have trigeminal neuralgia, which causes sharp, electric shock-like pain in your face (called Type I).
  • You have had (or will have) a surgery called microvascular decompression (MVD) for that pain.
  • You do not have a different type of face pain that is more like a constant ache (Type II).
  • This is not a repeat or revision surgery — it is your first MVD for this condition.
