Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You have had a stroke (ischemic or hemorrhagic) at least 6 months ago.
  • You can walk at home but slowly (less than about 1.5 feet per second) and cannot walk independently outside the home.
  • You are not currently doing treadmill walking or weight-bearing exercise programs.
  • You have your doctor's approval to exercise and are medically stable.
