This trial tests whether two medicines, a statin and colchicine, can slow or stop early heart artery plaque from growing in people who have mild plaque but no heart disease symptoms yet. It uses special CT scans to measure plaque over 2 years.

Who can take part

  • Women must be between 40 and 60 years old, men between 30 and 50 years old
  • You must have a small amount of calcium or soft plaque in your heart arteries (detected by a CT scan)
  • You must own and use a smartphone
  • You cannot have had a heart attack, stroke, or other heart disease diagnosis
  • You cannot currently be taking cholesterol-lowering medications or colchicine
  • If you are a woman who could get pregnant, you must agree to use effective birth control
